From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
First, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
